Type Locality Just upstream of Potters Creek, about 2.5 kilometers west of Bolivar, 35°15'14
Pronunciation no two russ - glah dee ate or
Etymology From the Greek notos, meaning back and oura, meaning tail. In reference to the confluent adipose and caudal fins. This specific epithet refers to the specimen's large, serrated pectoral spines (gladiator=swordsman).
