| Identification | Maxilla toothed. Coronoid process of lower jaw higher than in ?H. oregonensis. Intercornual concavity of mesethmoid prominent. |
| General Remarks | Lived in freshwater with gars (Lepisosteidae), bowfins (Amiidae), mooneyes (Hiodontidae), herrings (Clupeidae), suckers (Catostomidae) and ''primitive'' percoids. The climate was probably subtropical. |
