| Identification | The majority of species are small and compact, have a defense mechanism of three ossified spines in the dorsal and pectoral fins,being able to lock them into place. Known only from a single specimen, only 6 rays in the anal fin,caudal fin weakly indented. Irregular spots on a beige background creates a semi-marbled look. faint transverse bands on the pectoral and caudal fins. |
