| Identification | This species is blackish-brown on the dorsum, with the brown becoming slowly lighter down the sides to the belly. The lateral line is marked by a white line.The number of dorsal fin-rays 120-125, anal fin-rays 104-124. Pectoral fins are always present, few have ventral fins, the pectoral-fin spine is serrated on both faces. |
