Etymology	The region of the "Congo" and glanis meaning catfish. This species is named for the Inga Rapids, on the lower Congo River.

Size	111mm (4.4") SL. Find near, nearer or same sized spp.
Identification	The caudal peduncle is short and compressed in Congoglanis in relation to other members of the Amphiliidae, depth is greater than its width, there are no scutes that show through the surface of the skin. Body coloration generally dark, with variably distinct lighter regions on overall dark brown body.
Habitat Information
Distribution	Known only from the type locality, the vicinity of the Inga Dam, Congo River tributary, the River Lufu, Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Husbandry Information
Furniture	Reported to have been collected from ‘‘a long channel with moderate current, numerous pools and a predominantly rocky bottom’’ (Roberts and Stewart, 1976.
