Type Locality	Between Mutumba and Magara among rocks, Burundi, Lake Tanganyika.
Etymology	A patronym in honour of American ichthyologist Donald J. Stewart.
Species Information
Size	155mm (6.1") SL. Find near, nearer or same sized spp.
Identification	Some specimens show a randomly arranged marbled appearance, others can be uniform in dorsum and flank coloration which is brown to dark brown with slightly lighter belly. This species also is distinguished by having an incomplete lateral line.
Sexing	In ventral view especially, females are much broader in the body than males of equal age and rearing practices.
Habitat Information
Distribution	Lake Tanganyika, Lake wide distribution.

Feeding	A single specimen examined contained only the eggs of unidentified fish species.
Furniture	In the wild likely to inhabit rocky bottoms at a range of depths.
