Etymology	Named after the collector (de Bauw).
Species Information
Size	104mm (4.1") SL. Find near, nearer or same sized spp.
Identification	A single midlateral stripe and a faint stripe at the low on the body to the read from the around the caudal fin. No dark spots on caudal fin. Often confused with Paratropius buffei, which has a third line around mid-body that runs about half across the body from the head back.
Sexing	Females are larger and have a rounded, short genital papilla.
General Remarks	The fish sold under the name of P. debauwi is most often P. buffei.
Habitat Information

Temperature	23.0-26.0°C or 73.4-78.8°F (Show others within this range)
Other Parameters	Slightly soft water is preferred. Prefers a moderate current.
Husbandry Information
Feeding	All prepared food, most frozen foods. Flake, bloodworm and brineshrimp are ideal.
Furniture	Open swimming space hedged with plants. Not too much light, ideally floating plants will give the best results in terms of settling the fish.
Compatibility	A perfect citizen for the small to medium sized community tank. To combat shyness keep this fish in shoals of at least six individuals.
Breeding	Not reported, but it is a rainy season spawner.
