Type Locality Yunnan Province, China.
Synonym(s) Exostoma yunnanensis, Glyptosternum yunnanensis, Pseudexostoma yunnanensis

Size 111mm or 4.4" SL. Find near, nearer or same sized spp.
Identification Continuous post-labial groove, gill openings not extending onto venter, heterodont dentition (different types of teeth) in both jaws. The outer teeth are shovel-shaped and sparsely arranged in one or two rows whilst the inner teeth are conical and numerous. The tooth patches are separated in the upper jaw. 16–18 branched pectoral rays.

Distribution Asia: known only from the upper Dayinjiang (an upper branch of the Irrawaddy River), China.
