Thanks HH.

When asked, I've referred to them as S. waterloti-like. I'll be interested in anything else you might learn about these guys.

Rana temporaria - Eurasian common frog - as the name implies, a rather common frog in your neck of the woods as in large parts of Europe.

I have never read any material on how to identify the sex for Loricaria Fish. Right now I'm looking at a few pictures (and descriptions) of the difference between male and female Pseudohemiodon lamina. In the same booklet, other closely related species are described as well. The booklet is a German...

I would think cyclopeeze would be far too big for them I use freeze dried cyclop-eeze for all my fry. For the really small ones, I use a minute amount, which I 'rub' through a brine shrimp sieve. I then collect the extremely fine particles and use them for my fry, but I also dip the bottom of the a...

Not too sure about breeding.....I can't even sex these guys! There's only one reliable way of sexing Trichopsis: Put them (if possible in a small transparent container) in front of a strong light source. You can see the outline of the internal organs through the fish. Females have a long darkish tr...

According to Corymans excellent book on breeding Corydoradine catfishes, both males and females should be big enough to spawn at 1½". According to his breeding log, the males were 30mm and the females 32 mm when he managed to breed them.

Banjo catfish is one of my areas of interest as well. I've got two species so far, but I would like to get more if possible. You may not see them that often, but it has almost become a sport to see who can spot most of them in my tanks. They're so cool - even when they pretend to be dead. :-) Welcom...

In that case, quite a few species of Synodontis would do nicely. S. petricola and S. multipunctatus would in my mind be good choices. I'm sure other people can add to the list.

Lots of different kinds of catfish could go into that tank except for one thing: If we're talking about the same thing, crushed coral sand is way to sharp for the barbels of most catfish.

I do own a copy of Burgess. I was worried that the fact that it is somewhat outdated might also influence its validity for determining which genus a certain pleco belongs to.

Pleco teeth

When ID'ing plecos, some of you often seem to look at the teeth to help determining which genus they belong in. Could someone point me to a guide to these different kinds of teeth ?

That'll be late afternoon or early evening in the US and Early in the morning in parts of Asia, Australia and New Zealand ?

Shane, the idea of using this with catfish isn't mine. Someone (can't remember who) mentioned it in the chat room a couple of weeks ago. I've had the idea somewhere in the back of my mind ever since. Shane, I don't think I made myself clear. The idea I saw in this was using one pump to direct a current directly into or just past a number of caves, which could be advantageous when trying to breed certain catfish species.

Under-gravel jets any good with catfish ?

A couple of weeks ago, someone brought up the topic of under-gravel jets in the chat room.

http://snipurl.com/3qv0

Has anyone tried something like this with for instance Loricariids ? It would make it easy to provide a current to every cave in the tank if so wanted.
