Hi, These S.Eupterus come in all shapes, sizes and colour variations.

As said I donâ??t think youâ??re Syno is a hybrid.
If its not the water quality or food you feed him then it might be a genetic problem evolving from the use of hormones in breeding farms.

Apart from that nice fish.

I have used Waterlife Protozin on Synos, Loaches, plecs, and corys with no problems.
Make sure there is plenty of surface agitation for oxygen.

I think something stronger would be better at this stage.
Maracyn Furan -2 or Eye Fungex. Are a few stronger broad spectrum antibiotics.

The eye could be Cataracts(eye fungus).
So you most likely have a all over bacterial and fungus problem.

I keep 3 L. pardalis of different sizes and would say thatâ??s a normal growth rate.
The largest of the 3 is about 10â?

I think S.clarias has a red tail and black body as juvenile, then fades to grey with age retaining some red pigment on the tail.

Including that Synodontis "zebrinus" that some people claim is a real fish, yet totally looks like an S. eupterus hybrid... I have one of these suspect sp(5) hybrids and TBH it has nothing at all in common with S.Eupters. S.angelicus crossed with S.ornatipinnis or S.koensis would be more ...

Ostracod Advice Please.

Hello, I recently discovered a few Ostracod in my filter media and donâ??t know what to make of it. I found a little reading on the net about them being harmless to fish and good for Algae control but mainly associated with dirty pond waters. There was nothing about getting rid of them. Iâ??...

Try and get a digital timer with relay switches rather than the cheaper mechanical type.
I have had so many problems with the mechanical timers failing one way or another.
Also if you have a power cut the digital timer will keep its on/off settings backed up by battery.

Well in a lot of cases fish are susceptible to disease when stressed or water conditions are wrong.
Iâ??ve not long got over a Costia infection in one tank, only 2 out of 16 fish showed symptoms so not all will show signs necessarily.

If I ever suspect parasites in my Aquaria, the first thing I do is take a sample from the main Bio chamber of the filter and examine it under a microscope. Most of the basic fish parasites are easy to see under 40X magnification with a cheap hobby microscope. Here is another collection of parasites ...
