I think there are at least two species in this group. Bought as C leucomelas from my LFS<

What do I have? I may have to go get more. Good price,

Are these the same species? Brevirostris?

I have had the bigger fish a few years and just acquired a group of the smaller. I hope they are both C brevirostris?

Shane-- do you refer to the Ebo-Jaeger by Eheim?? Their cost seems to be right in line with the other mass-producers.

Crinum sp

I just have to brag on this plant. It is so old, I am not even sure what it is. I think it is a crinum species. This plant is upwards of 10 years old and just keeps on going and going. Right now, it has near 20 long leaves on it and they get 36" long. The tank is a 65 gallon US - 36"x 18&q...

Can anyone guess at what happened here? I have no idea how long it was split like this. It was still working but not like it should have been. It is an aluminum Aqueon 200W

Shane, how long do you leave the leaves and wood in your blackwater tank? Do you add it to a certain pH or TDS?

What's up with this guy?

The is one of 8 adult L-333 in my 125 and the only one turning white. The white is slowly replacing all his other coloring. He seems fine. The fish are all probably 8-10 years old. They are some wild and some F1. Why is he turning white?

123 or not

I bought a group of 4 cories that were listed as C-123. I am sure they are not. What are the 2 on the right? Are they CW-123? The fish on the left is one of my older C-123 with the obvious yellowish fins -- JS

air distribution

I need to upgrade my air distribution in the fish room. Now I am using a HiBlow 80 and am thinking about adding an old HiBlow 20. Can I add the second without doing damage to the pumps? Next question, researching online, I have seen a lot of references to closed loops on air systems. Does that mean ...

Lineages

Can someone point me to a document that explains, in not too technical a way, on the lineages now being used to differentiate between all the different species of Corydoras? Do we need to only worry about cross-breeding among fish within the same lineages?? Thanks

PC lists these as the same species. Is there agreement on that? I need more 154 to get a breeding group

Re: The Most Expensive Fish You've Lost

ouch... I lost a single zebra once when a young adult got tangled in some thread I had used to attach some java fern to a piece of driftwood. I have lost a tankful of young P Compta and L-129 to a heater malfunction.

Re: Hybridization in Nature

I had the same thoughts regarding the geographic isolation of the jaguar, (I am not a scientist, just a fan.)

I fear what this kind of information this can do to the Endangered Species Act, especially now with a Congress and administration so hostile to science and conservation.

That sounds about like I started. I know have 30 tanks and two dozen species of corys and plecos. You likely dont have much room for more fish, maybe a couple of small tetras. b-)

Dancing Farlowella

I had an interesting experience yesterday. This was the first time I had seen this behaviour though my Farlowella had spawned for me several times leaving me with about 15 young. Two fish, about 7" each and spawn of the others, were wrapped up in what I can only call a ballet for over 15 minute...
