I bought this group a few years ago as 2m 2f fish and they were about 1-2years old. now between 4-5yrs old they have finally spawned for me and could not be happier. help sexing ID L102?

I'm fairly sure this is a L102 snowball pleco, but I'm for sure not even close to knowing for sure. I was told when it was given to me it was a female snowball but not knowing what L number it was. After looking at the pictures here I do believe it is a L102 but not sure if female or not due to it h...

Re: Aggressive L18

Thank you Barbie.. I'm not sure if he/she is full grown yet. If not really close at 4" now. It for sure gets its share of food (very plump belly) and is always out and active for a pleco. My other is about 1 inch smaller and never out but at night. I have seen it do it a couple times and the 15...

I have raised a couple L18's and there about full grown now. They are in a tank with some young kribs I was growing out. the kribs spawned in the tank and I witnessed My larger L18 attack the brood of babies when they went under a log in the tank. He was fighting both the kribs and munching on as ma...

help sexing L183

I have a L183 and was wondering if anyone could help me sex it. I tried feeling its nose as I was told females have a squishy nose as the male have hard noses(not sure if true). It feels squishy on the sides but not the middle. Any help would be most appreciated.
thank you..

Thank you for the input. That would be nice if she was gravid. I was thinking to young yet to be gravid but they are aquarium born fish . They all seem normal as I have been checking on them hourly just to be safe.

I'm very diligent about my water with all my fish so when I noticed this one with a big belly It was not normal. The c...

Yes matsp I have asked many questions to the seller as to how he kept his and for his water numbers. I have everything just about the same as we both get our water from the great lakes. his water is slightly lower in PH at 7.0 and mine comes from the tap at 7.3 but the wood should help that alittle....

Re: Setups for L183 white seam/starlight BN plecos

I feed live blackworms to my fish but I don't think my pleco's ever get any as my Rainbow's are way to fast and never let any fall :(. but I won't have anything in this tank but these young ones so I'll give it a go with them.
Thx for the input. Mike
