Don´t worry, fish in the wild during the winter are active in water that is usually between 6-10ºC, so your fish will be ok and it´s nice what your mention about your pond.

Hi:
I saw the behaviour that you mentioned specially when they were feeding. The sure thing is that h. paraguayensis have more day activitie than other doradids with or without another specie in the tank.

THe maximum size that i saw in the wild was 45 cm. This should be near the maximum size for the specie. Keep the fish, the adult pattern it´s great!

It´s sure an hypostomus for parana drainage in Argentina/paraguay. The name used here is H. albopunctatus but i´m not sure if it´s correct.

HI!. In my experience the best allways was wardley cichlid pellets in sm size. Also it´s really good Tetra for discus but i think will be more expensive there and for the first moment wardley pellets iare better because floats in the top. Your fish are in size to eat pellets, i´m sure they will do...
