Re: Visible differences between LDA007 and L114

There are slight differences in average pattern and body shape, but the best way is to know which river the fish were collected from. Each variation of leopardus has it's own likes and dislikes for breeding.

Re: What is max SL of Panaqolus claustellifer?

I've been keeping a few since September, and they are slow growing. They are 1.5 years old and yet already my own L397 fry, hatched in August 2017, have already outgrown these claustellifer. Wow, either your claustellifer are really tiny or your L397 are growing like crazy. What size are your L397 ...

Re: Corydoras Panda injured after spawning frenzy

it also looks as though the gill color is much darker in the most recent photos. Perhaps you may have some sort of issue stemming from that, which is causing the sores and scratching, or vice versa. I would be inclined to isolate this fish and watch it and the others closely for several weeks.

Re: L114 Color Morphs

Hi, the juvenile above is a L 427 for sure, I know it's parents and the breeder. It cant get more "L427ish". You should be confident with your young as 427 then Mol. As they are just very uncommon since it is a trip the fishermen make just for that fish. You should never find 427 mixed in...

Re: L114 Color Morphs

I do not see any L427 in this thread. Photos of your young one as it grows may change that but right now, there are none here. I also am not seeing anything that would leave me to believe there is a true leopardus/aka 600 in this thread either. Amount of orange on fins can be as variable aspeed the ...

There are several different places I trust. Wetspottropicalfish.com, Imperial Tropicals, and closer to home for you, tangledupincichlids.com usually hAve some oddball stock. Wet spot may cost you more for shipping as its about as far across the US as you could get... There are also plenty of quality...

Re: Mustard spot pleco (Panaqolus albomaculatus) project

Eric, Looking good! Plus in my opinion it never hurts to have a larger group that you could always try to remove a pair from to their own tank to breed if desired. It will be interesting to see pictures of the larger one after a month or so and some more weight put on. I, like you, lean toward it be...

That size of 13" of TL just seems large to me for the Atabapo is all. Didn't think they got that large, good to learn something new! My apologies @Jools for second guessing you!

It looks like it may be some type of peckoltia, but would need a mouth shot to verify this. It is an awesome looking fish regardless of what it is though!

I would agree with the one that is 8" and pictured most. It appears that the one on the left in the second picture may be some sort of spatuloricaria, would also explain the 13" size. Any of pictures of the larger one?

Pseudacanthicus sp. L185 spawn

Hi all! Figured I would share a pic of my L185 wigglers. Just pulled them from a rather ornery father (that I was moving his cave/babies). The eggs were laid on August 20th. Edit; apparently I didn't save the picture only took it to upload, so if someone more knowledgable than me in these things can...

The pectoral appear rather thick and odontode laden. I would lean toward a male that passed because of some sort of internal infection/disease.

Re: Want advice: how to set up a 75 gal tank's filtration system for Panaqolus

As Natural art said the largest thing with them can be aesthtics. Eric, I do use them on my panaqulous tanks without issue. L398 (breeding), L204 (growing out), L306 (breeding), L351 (growing out), L206 (growing). They don't turn into a "sloppy mess" as they don't really degrade in anyway....

Re: Want advice: how to set up a 75 gal tank's filtration system for Panaqolus

Eric, A mattenfilter would be great for the tank! Just need to get an appropriate sized ppi is all. What species do you plan on putting in there? I would imagine something in the range of 10-15ppi would be most ideal. It would be able to handle a lot of the larger bulkier waste from the fish and not...
