Re: LF advice: pleco and cory breeding rack

Ok perfect. I'm going with individual tanks. Does anyone breed hypans in 20 gallon tanks? 24"x12"x16" high

Re: What sex are my L97?

I'm leaning towards male.

How long have you had them? Maybe after a few months of feeding and clean water they will show differently.

Just a guess, by no means an expert here

Good luck

Wow sorry about the filter. Such a pain but I guess it can always be something.

Good luck with this spawn

That's a great video. So much action all in one day. How are the fry coming a long? After they hatched did you move the fry to the fry containers?

Re: Need advice about fish evacuations. In an emergency situations here.....

Put them in one or two 5 gallon buckets and drive safe. Do a water change at your sisters. Also bring your filter from your tank and put it on her tank. You can also store your fish in a larger tote, use a sponge filter and a heater. Doesn't have to be an aquarium Goodluck, hope you guys and your ho...

Re: New pleco tank

Looks really good. Maybe push the caves back slightly more so that some of the rock hangs over the front of the cave.

What filter are you using? To get them to breed you need a high oxygen content so a few large sponge filters would do well

Re: LF advice: pleco and cory breeding rack

Ok thanks for the advice. I didn't think of just taking some water and dumping it into the other tanks.

I plan on having a central drain line to speed up the water changes.

Cheers

Re: Disease of my blue Eye Panaque Suttoni

Tank looks rrally nice but I'm surprised your not seeing other fish with problems. Your not changing nearly enough water.

Up the water changes by at least 50% a week. I would do several a week for a few weeks and see if that clears up your royal.

Goodluck

LF advice: pleco and cory breeding rack

Hi, I'm planning on setting up a rack with 8 aquariums, probably 20 gallons for the cories and 30 to 40 gallons for the plecos. Probably a few hypancistrus. My question is would you plumb together and use a central sump or just use sponge filters/hmf? I heard that cories can trigger other groups to ...

Moving the caves around can definitely disturb them. Try vacuuming out as much as you can without moving the caves around

Re: Blue eye panaque and L25 in same tank

It's the diet that becomes a problem. If the panaques eats too much meat it can lead to problems. With hiding places they should be able to stake out territories easily

Re: Spawning Regularity of Corydoras sterbai

Sterbai eggs hatch at higher Temps than some of the other colder cories. That's why the container is placed back into the tank to keep the water around 80 degrees

Re: Spawning Regularity of Corydoras sterbai

I remove the eggs with my hand and put them in a container with an air stone. Float it in the tank and I add meth blue. Eggs hatch a few days later and I them feed walter worms. After another day they are placed into a fry saver for a month or two.

Re: Sexing catfish, Panaqolus

With the l204s the males have very distinct large odontodes(spikes)on there tails. Look more closely at the pictures and you can tell. If you see them in person the odontodes are very evident. Panaqolus seem to be very easy to sex, I have a hard time sexing some other plecos where you must distingui...
