Re: This Year Cory Eggs are not hatching!

I rinse out my plastic hatch tubs then set them out in the sun for a day or so. Rarely do I have fungus issues

They both look like hungry otos to me. Maybe drop them some Zucchini or spinach?

By no means an expert (which is evident by my inability to identify species lol), but it looks like and L204 or "flash pleco"

Re: Which pleco to pick?

In my opinion, a 10 gallon is not to small for a BN pleco, we breed them in this size tank consistently and it sounds like shad0wfish13 knows how to do water changes and feed his algae eating friends efficiently. I think the addition of the hornwort or frogbit or both along with a nice BN would solv...

Re: Which pleco to pick?

I love Amazon Frogbit! Great floating plant, easy to remove if it gets out of hand, and great for lapping up the nutrients that algae thrive on, PLUS added bonus of light blocking for additional algae control, enjoys the slow current you refer to also. Good luck :)

Re: Corydoras sp. CW051?

Mine are eating well and schooling with another cory species in a 30" x 12" x 12" tank HMF filter at 78 f, eat just about anything I put in there, flake, pellets, tabimin, repashy, frozen brine. I'm treating them with Prazi Pro and did lose one right after arrival, it was very pale an...

I swear I read an article where someone had a male BN for 27 years or something like that, he went through a couple mates and kept raising babies til the end...........I thought that was amazing :)

Sounds great! Not all filters are the same but you'll be able to tell if it's not doing the job, you can always add another filter :) happy fish keeping

Re: Peppered cory catfish in 10 gallon tank

The amount of corys per tank all depends on your filtration capacity and cleaning regimen, IMO. I personally would add a couple more, I have 6 to 10 corys per 10G breeding tank. I just make sure I do my weekly water changes and have adequate filtration :d

Re: 30 inch long tank bit to small for bushynose plecos?

I personally have not had bn jump out of my tank, but use a glass cover as I often put killi fry in and they are renowned leapers! I have also found guppies to be a bit nippy to the young bn fry, the bn fry don't grow well when I've had guppies as tank mates. Just my personal experience.

Re: 30 inch long tank bit to small for bushynose plecos?

I also use the tank as a grow out area on occasion for a variety of fish fry. The BN are easy and peaceful tankmates. Don't be afraid to utilize the top area of the tank with other peaceful fish.

Re: 30 inch long tank bit to small for bushynose plecos?

I have found them to not be picky about temps, but I keep them at room temp in the fishroom around 75 f to 80 f. I see them all the time, the babies are always out and parents in their favorite nap spots or the male tending his cave.

Re: C. Similis spawing

I raised my c. Similis in a cherry shrimp and snail tank where their growth almost matched c. Sp. Black fry of the same age. At 90 days they are about 3/4 the size of their parents. They grazed on the misc insuforia present then were fed varied Repashy foods along with Tetra Tabs and now some frozen...
