That's it fixed, swapped the captions back over and all is now well hopefully.

Re: Synodontis victoriae again

So, what has happened here is the pictures are in the wrong place. If the pictures were swapped then

a) The owners of the pictures would be correct and
b) they'd be the right way around in both cases

Looking at it now.

Re: Shane's World is getting old/stagnant

Well, things get old. However stagnant probably means nothing fresh coming in, and that's true. I think I have one or two articles I could publish - it's down to time really. It is my intention to freshen up the layout and also make all of the articles in there easier to find.

Please don't call them "Blue Panaque" :YMSIGH: They have nothing to do with Panaque.... I know you know this, the name just irritates the shit out of me 8-|
Lol. Let's call them Blue Baryancistrus then. Oh, wait...

Blue Beggini is a nicer name.....

Re: Wild Caught Zebra Plecos

No worries. BTW, the other issue with breeding this fish in Brazil is if they're illegal to fish and export from the wild, then how to customs etc tell the difference between those shipped out from farms and those from the wild. It would be, in my view, very hard to export anything larger than 6-8cm...

Re: Image of L019 actually of L020?

They are very hard to tell apart when young from photographs. Even in the wild when holding the fish in your hand it's tricky. Given the fact that the differences between L019 and L020 were first discussed with me by Ingo who took that third photos, I am pretty confident of the ID. One of those ones...

Maybe we can add some photo's as an example from above and the side, I think it will help a lot of people?
Searching the Cat-eLog for the image caption pair yields lots of pictures, many of which are Corydoras.

Re: Wild Caught Zebra Plecos

That’s not true is was perfectly legal to export these fishes from Brazil before the Positive List. Also, you can’t tell how many of the registered populations are captive bred. All mine are.

Re: Wild Caught Zebra Plecos

This makes no commercial sense. You can bred zebras (as fish go they are low fecundity and high tech) anywhere in the world but it’s easier where there is good water and transport links.

Re: Trichomycterus pascuali - Furniture

I've tidied it up across all spp. As Eric said, the generic text was too broad given these species are found in differing habitats.

If they're not on the undernoted list, they're effectively banned.

Re: Cephalosilurus fowleri

If it's coming from Peru, it's not likely to be C. fowleri unless it's smuggled in which case it will be expensive.

Re: Last chance for L14?

For the record, large Scobinancistrus are not common enough to be regularly eaten. Fisherman know they're worth more to sell. Of course, Brazil is restricts the export of fishes to control what they see, loosely, as bio piracy. Habitat destruction is what will wipe these things out if/when the curre...
