If water parameter testing is done weekly, and the tests always show 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, and low nitrates (5-10ppm), could it still be a microbial biological filtration issue?

No air pump, but the integrated filter does do a good job of moving the water and causing surface movement.

Hmmm...I'm not sure I like the sound of that. How does one vacuum sand without sucking up the sand. I think fish are beyond my knowledge, and I feel bad that I got these. Poor guys! I'm not sure what to do now. If it's an "anaerobic condition," do I start all over?

What are the acceptable or optimal GH and KH ranges for Corydoras, specifically c. Similis? My GH is around 125; KH is around 89. Acceptable? TDS reads 211 (which is close to expected given the above numbers). Should they be lower? Thanks!
