Re: Can any one ID Please?

I am pretty sure most fish listed as coming from Columbia are from Brazil. All I do know is they came in to the UK from an importer and were on the list as L066 which they are not, by any stretch of the imagination. The reason for requesting an ID is that the fry are now of a size that i can sell so...

Re: Orientation of caves?

For what it is worth I place all caves at all angels to the power heads I use 2 x caves to fish so 5 fish = 10 caves. I cover the caves totally with slate, small stones and bogwood. A litter of leaf and plant matter across the floor of the tank. The fish find the cave they want and spawn. It has wor...

Re: Plecos with Hoplos?

I have never had these two fish in the same tank. I have however kept larger L Numbers with Megalechis thoracata ie Scobinancistrus aureatus . I totally agree about the feeding, May I suggest keeping Dianema urostriatum with L201 they are a far more dainty feeder and also do tend to be more mid wate...

Ok let me explain about poo in my tanks. I have never vacuumed or removed Poo or any waste for that matter dead leaves, plant matter, old food, dead snails or any thing. I breed mainly Hypans and would not say I am a very experienced or successful breeder but I have a few Species/ variants / L Numbe...

Re: Gravel or sand for plecos??

This question is best answered by the fish. Many fish have sound reasons why they would prefer one form of substrate over another. Some fish need to burry in a soft sand due to several reasons , some use this burrowing to await prey some to hide during daylight ,and some just find it easyer to feed ...

Hi :-H Lovely fish :-BD :-BD :-BD As I am sure you’re aware the L numbers that are assigned to the "Black & White" scribble plecos are always open to debate so I will not go down that road. I can only say they look like a group of fish I have, I brought them as L066, I have been told t...

I can't find it in the Cat-elog.
If it was easy to find, I wouldn't have posted it here.
Naturally people only post if they are unsure of the ID of a fish. I would hate to think people post just to confuse or to brag.

If you can suspend the decoration just over the water, with the opening of the cave pointing down, the fish will eventually come out - if you can't do that over the tank itself, try to arrange something over a bucket or some such. -- Mats This is the best way if any of the fish is "Hanging&quo...
