ugly clay caves
Maybe it's only me that does not like the look of clay in the tank- I just wince looking at those long clay caves I put in there to breed the plecs and to give them safe shelter of their choosing. It just rubs at me the wrong way- like looking at barebottom tanks as well too. I just don't like the l...

Have 5 currently in my 45g tank- with the sultan plecos- ADDed so many hiding holes, caves, driftwoods and whatnot- the cats are constantly being picked on by the sultans- My sultans are really push-overs and very outgoing. I don't know if others have the same problem with theirs. Or is it just amon...

Whoa- sorry about your loss. Overstocking is not a crime as long as you do the water changes religiously- I know many other fish keepers are guilty of that but won't admit it. Go over to monsterfishkeepers.com and they got a thread going on about that :) Others are right about the bare bottom- I was...

Yep that's the snail! Did not know what babies looked like. Thanks!
I just saw one last night and its way bigger than when I first got it. It was chilling out in a corner of the tank and I do hope the pleco leave it alone

L397s eating a.helena snails?
I have a plague right now and they're called ramshorns in my planted tanks- when I got rid of my yoyo loaches, there was nothing I could do to get rid of it when I accidently dropped in a ball of java moss I brought on aquabid years ago... I meant for it to go into my killifish tank. Ever since I re...

Re: Leopard Frog maturity
I brought all 8 of my L-134s when they were about 1-1.5 inches long from a local guy and the parents were on site. I was told at the time that they were around 4-6 months old he didn't know he had babies in there until he was cleaning the tank and accidently killed some of the babies. That was back ...

Re: Bull Dog Terror
Suppose its the mucus that the frog sheds? I do recall one of my common pleco following one of my clawed frogs around and eating the mucus with delish. It wasn't an issue back then as the pleco wasn't aggressive to the frog.

I agree with Mike now that diet has been cleared up. I have added liquid iodine and calcium to my tanks FOR my freshwater shrimp and they're thriving really well- I dont know about pleco fries as my clown killies had really good batches one after another. (fed all kinds of flake food, live daphnias,...
