Hi folks,
I've rescued a Cory from a very dirty 3' tank containing a 12" Crayfish and this lone Cory.

Can anyone id the species?

He appears to have lost his barbels and has some dorsal damage which will probably heal.

Will the barbels grow back do you think?

Thanks for your time. :P

Wow. That was quick! Many thanks Dave!

I did look through the Corydorus thumbnail page but I guess I got overloaded with images and couldn't see it.

Do you think the barbels will grow back then?

It seems to have no difficulty finding food without them.

If you keep it in good water and with fine rounded substrate (sand or fine gravel), you'll be giving it the best chances of growing new barbels. It very much depends on whether they are recently lost or have been eroded continuously for a long time (in the latter case, it's unlikely that they will grow back again).
