It's one of the species, but since some of them look pretty similar it's harder to tell what species.

Good point. I can't find a single Pimelodella with a black spot on the dorsal fin...

I will not start making up names again; this is most likely going to be Pimelodella sp 6

Looks like Pimlodus Gracilis.
Or at least that's what they are called in my local Trop retail outlet

But our single picture of the fish doesn't show the black dorsal markings that the fish pictured here has...

This looks like the fish identified as Pimelodella cf. geryi by Galvis et al. (2006). The real P. geryi (from French Guiana) also shows the darkened tip of the dorsal fin.

Just to throw more confusion into the mix, these fish were caught in the same area as the undescribed Brachyrhamdia "Arcuatus", in southern Colombia.

You know, the "longer upper caudal fin lobe", "lower dorsal fin hyaline with black spot fading distally" and the collection area place it very, very close to P. metae. Any one think not?

P. metae from the Meta River basin, Colombia is almost identical.

It is also very similar to P. geryi according to Le Bail et al, but the locality is out.
