Hi,

This is definately a Pseudohemiodon species.
The bodyshape is similar to P. lamina but has a different coloration.
Do you know where they come from?

@mac: What do you expect with a shot of abdominal region?

Hi,

I don't think so - I think it will be a similar species, but not the same.
P. lamina comes Peru and will not exportet from colombia.

Hi Racoll,

No, it looks like a typical Pseudohemiodon species.
C. cephalaspis has a different body shape, like a small head. Next to shape, the coloration of all described Crossoloricaria is very precisious.
I know, there is no described species of the genus Pseudohemiodon in colombia. So I think it could be a new species, closely related to P. lamina.

Hi Mac,

All Pseudohemiodon are very similar with its abdominal cover. All species are completely plated (Crossoloricaria aren't). The shape of the mouth differs a bit by length of maxiallary barbels as well as the amount of fringed barbels. But I think the known species of the described we can determine by bodyshape and coloration. Unfortunately we don't know like Pseudohemiodon amazonus from Brasil and Pseudohemiodon devincenzii from Uruguay will look. I will check if I find the description at home.
