New import fm Suriname. Need ID confirmation. Both abt 4-5 in TL.

Hi,

IMHO the first one is certainly no P. cristata as the black band crosses the eye and is too broad.
This might be Pimelodella procera, the picture in the book of Mol is a perfect fit to my eye. The dorsal fin should have a black blotch at the tip/border which might the part missing in your fish.

The second one looks close to mine that have been identified as P. macturki previously. Another species looking close is Rhamdia foina (as it appears in the book of Mol, previously this was also considered to be Rhamdella cf. leptosoma).

However wrt. heptapterids I know that I don't know...
