Chrysichthys from Côte d'Ivoire
, I guess?
Has the humeral spot and the big dorsal fin with black edge, but the lower caudal-fin lobe is larger rather than smaller than the upper.

Re: Chrysichthys from Côte d'Ivoire
I think so, only other thought would be C. maurus but I don't really know that species and from what I have in the clog, it's a brown not silver species.

Re: Chrysichthys from Côte d'Ivoire
These do seem to have a very different head profile (longer snout) than the aquarium specimens in the cat-elog

Re: Chrysichthys from Côte d'Ivoire
Yes, these don't bear a lot of resemblance to the fish in the CLOG, so I was going on info in Seegers, but that isn't great either.
In fact the exact same photo of C. nigrodigitatus in Seegers, is in the CLOG under .

Chrysichthys teugelsi is another candidate.

Re: Chrysichthys from Côte d'Ivoire
Wow. Never would even thought this is a Chrysichthys. They look so different from what we know in the trade as aluminum catfish and its cousin Chrysichthys ornatus.
Is there something I am missing??

Confirmed by local fisheries staff as C. nigrodigitatus, and matches photos in their guide book pamphlet.
Feel free to add the photos to the CLOG.
