Trichomycterus pascuali - Furniture

Post by lfinley58 »

Hi -
Under "Furniture" for this species it is noted: "In the wild found in small streams with a sand and rock bottom with no vegetation." This appears to be a default entry for many (if not all??) Trichomycterus spp. There are so many species and I did not check it out totally.

In the original description of the species it is noted that specimens were " ...collected under rocks and aquatic vegetation in a muddy bottom area...". Emphasis added by me.

Hi Lee,

Yes for many genera there is an entry for genus-level data. If an individual species has more specific information, the species-level data can be entered and it supersedes the generic data on the CLOG display. I can enter that for you and once it's vetted/approved, it will display the appropriate info.

In the meantime, a photo has been added from original description:

Thanks,
Eric

Hi Eric,

Thanks. I will so note any other conflicting situations that I might happen to run across.

I've tidied it up across all spp. As Eric said, the generic text was too broad given these species are found in differing habitats.

Hi Jools,

Thanks. As noted I will send any similar info as it might come to hand (or mind).
