For all those UK fishkeepers that like to bag a bargain, or get a reasonable return for their tank bred fish, the CSG has made changes to their Spring and Summer lecture meetings.
The lectures themselves will be as previous meetings, with Dr. David Price giving a talk on "Aspects of Mexican freshwater fish conservation", at the spring event on May 20th.
Where we have made a dramatic change is, instead of a mini auction we will be having a 'Sales Meet' where vendors, instead of entering lots into an auction and getting a few minutes sales window, they will be able to rent a table for the nominal fee of £15, at which they will have 4 hours to sell their wares, be they fish, plants or other aquatic items.
The other major advantage is, sellers can go onto the CSG forum (or here for that matter) and promote themselves and the items they have for sale.
The event will take place at the Derwent Hall, George Street, Darwen, BB3 0DQ, and tables can be booked through the Auction Manager Dave Barton (01942 248130).
For those coming to the lecture and or to purchase a bargain or two, there will be a £2 entry fee, and for this you will receive 3 free prize draw tickets. All three prizes are well worth the £2 fee, at least one of which will be an external canister filter.
Even Vendors get a chance to will something in the free Vendor draw.
This is a totally new idea for us at the CSG and with your support we are sure this will be a huge success and become a regular part of our calender.
