I have been breeding bristlenose catfish for 4 months now and have had no problems with the 3 batches i have raised , but i was given two leopard plecos both adult , one is considerably bigger than the other , I hear its near impossible to tell the sex of them , one has taken to a cave and it looks like he or she is fanning the eggs like a bristle nose . Can anyone tell me if its the same sequence for breeding leopard plecos as bristlenose or do they require a different diet or system . Thanks in advance for any help
Which species is "Leopard pleco"? I've seen this name used for several species, for example Pterygoplichthys joselimaianus (which there is sexing information on the species page) and Pseudacanthicus leopardus (also sexing information on the species page), but may also be a confusion with the smaller Peckoltia compta ("Leopard Frog Pleco") as well as Peckoltia sp(l008) ("Leopard Peckoltia"). It wouldn't surprise me if some other plecos with dark spots would sometimes be called "Leopard pleco".
