Pterygoplichthys joselimaianus l001 max size

Post by natteheks »

Has anybody ever seen a 19 inch / 500 mm Joselimaianus? I regularly post on a Danish forum and there is a user who insists that they get just as big as Gibbiceps. When I enquire where he has seen this specimen he says they had it in a shop where he used to work. Is it possible that he is right?

Never seen any bigger than a foot in captivity. Perhaps in the wild it is possible.

We have this discussion every now and again. First of all make sure everyone is talking about either TL or SL. Then ask them to provide a picture with a tape measure. It's amazing how bad everyone is as estimating the size of fishes.

I've not seen on that big (SL).
