how do you tell L144 from lemon bn?

how do you tell L144 from lemon bn?

how can you tell the difference between the 2? i have one but not sure what it is. i didnt know there were lemon bn or what is called black eye bn. i know the ones i have stay smaller than any other bn i have ever had. hope come one can give me some info

The one you have is a lemon bristlenose if it has blue/black eyes. if the eyes are red it is an albino common.

L144 come from an area that is not collected from & are not in the hobby except for a few individuals. If you have obtained it from a specialist who can tell you the ancestry back to some of the very very few real L144 it may be but this is highly unlikely as everyone thinks the lemon is L144 when it is in reality it is ancistrus sp(4)

I am fairly certain the OP was referring to sp(4) when he mentioned L144.

L144 has become the common trade name for this fish sadly, despite being a form of albino bristlenose catfish not collected from the wild and obtained through selective breeding. So your "L144" is most likely ancistrus sp(4) and the same fish as "lemon bn"

do the lemon stay smaller than the other colors? i know mine (what ever they are) do they max at 4 inches where as all the others i have color wise are much bigger some 6 inches
