Sex my plex, L091's

Post by plecoloachfish »

Hey guys, through advice from a good chap on one of the facebook groups ive popped on here to put up some photos of my L091's which I cant be 100% sure on sex.
One caves the other traps, so it seems like they are a pair but Id like a few second opinions.
one seems to be getting plumper but I was worried this might be bloat which got me to posting some photos.
Either way they are off food for a while till the one with the big hips either lays eggs or gets a bit skinnier!
Will add the rest of the photos in the next post:
The female, or so I think is indicated with blue gravel male without.

These are more recent of the female (or so I believe, much wider)

this one is much lighter colour wise in comparison to the other which is more dark brown than light.

I think it's a safe bet she's female. I also think she's getting scraped up by males, so you may not have long to wait for a spawn.

It seems you have a pair. Males are typically darker in colouration than females.
How big are these? What type of food are they being offered? Seems like not really big enough to become gravid.

Both are approx 7" nose to tail.
Food is mostly aquafarmen special repashy carnivore mix every second day, its been mostly meaty foods they have been having with some veg thrown in for digestive aid and they have bogwood to knaw on for fibre.
