Thanks
Mine haven't grown nearly as quickly as yours, they're about 3cm SL at the moment (some bigger than others). They haven't had such targeted feeding as yours, because they're in a tank with the parents and I've been away from home a lot recently.
Apart from a variety of woods, mine get a diet of Repashy gel mix (morning wood, soilent green, meat pie, and chlorella&spirulina powder), vitalis pleco pellets, courgette or red bell pepper.

I did move them back in with parents, once a suitable size. I mostly feed on tetra prima. Bit of courgette but the parents destroy it's obviously in one end and out the other, and leaves the tank in a right mess.

Baby pics. 10 days old. I can tell already some of these will have nice markings!
A couple still have a little bit of egg sack left.

4 batches since I obtained the group back in may, I'm hoping to be able to rest them very soon by turning temp down slightly, still have 2 gravid females so will give it a while, anyway I'm not sure its going to happen that soon though! Weather temps are forecast to possibly hit 30 in the next day or so.

Re: L397s Spawning :):):)
The huge pieces of wood in my big tank are perenially covered in algae. The presence of an SAE, two Farlowellas and a small group of Otos makes no dent on it.
Imagine my surprise the other day when I spotted clean bite-marks over a moderate area of the wood. Who could be having a munch?
I'd almost forgotten who I'd put in there a couple of weeks back - one of my fry from under the stairs. Tonight I managed to catch him almost red-handed (well, red and black finned...)

Re: L397s Spawning :):):)
Some teethmarks!! Never seen mine eating algae like this, but then again I've not put wood like this in front of them. Foods like algae wafers, spiriluna flakes ect go untouched, guess I need to start trying to cultivate some. The last two batches are being raised on tetra prima, courgettes, also started feeding naturekind that goes down well in all tanks. Adults have not spawned for a while, might have something to do with the fry/juvies in with them.
Thanks Teresa

On the subject of feeding one of the female adults and older youngsters sharing some courgette. The light glare makes it glow a bit too much!!

Re: L397s Spawning :):):)
I had the same with my Farlowellas this week! Two males spawned with the same female and they're both guarding eggs about 8" apart on the glass.
I need to move some of the twig cats on or I'll be seriously over-run. I've already got two generations breeding and I think the third generation is about to join in...

Re: L397s Spawning :):):)
An update on my little ones:
A few weeks ago I moved two of the juveniles into my big 450L tank, where the bogwood had become covered in BBA. They're doing an amazing job stripping it all off - they don't actually eat it so I have to siphon up the mess, but the wood is almost free of algae now.
I have arranged to sell up to 10 of them to Aqualife, I wasn't sure how many there were. Well I got up early this morning to catch them, and in the end there are another 14 (so 16 in total). I'm taking 10 to the shop as agreed and will sell the other four privately.
Whilst moving all the decor in the tank to catch them, on of the adult males refused to come out of his wooden cave. I left it in and worked round him.
Hope all is well with yours too?
Paul

Re: L397s Spawning :):):)
Two of my boys have been trapping on and off all week, one of them is now. I had three very gravid females ready to pop, well one did! Last night discovered a male with eggs in the cave. He wasn't as interested in fanning the eggs but more in the female waiting outside. ;)

Re: L397s Spawning :):):)
Bit of an eventful few days in L397 tank. After dad kicked, there's now a new batch of fry in egg tumbler, was a bit of an issue with fungussed eggs, was concern over how many would successfully hatch, but got a good few fry despite this. There's still 2 very gravid females, 2 males have been intermittently trapping both on quite a few occasions, hence no day 4 fry pics this one was trapping within a few inches of egg tumbler. Some pics attached of adults and wrigglers. The last time i checked one was trapping again so I'm fairly certain they'll be more babies to come in the next week or so.
Thanks Teresa

Also an update. I've had three batches since last update. Although I was told knocking temp back would stop them breeding, I was also advised that with leaving as it is, they'd know when to stop, I'm not so sure they do!

Nice - you're getting over-run with them
Interesting to see the partially colourless one. Will it colour up or is this an unusual one?
