250x80x60 tank: what kind of pleco to choose?
250x80x60 tank: what kind of pleco to choose?
Hello everybody!!!
Sorry for my bad english, I will try to do my best!
I have received a tank recently ( my installation is not ready yet but I need advises about it ), and I think I will make south american tank...
I intend to take 1 or 2 groups of cichlids ( Geophagus winemilleri and maybe Acarichthys heckelii or Satanoperca rhynchitis for example ), and 1 group of Anostomus or Pseudanos with maybe 1 little group of Abramites hypselonotus ( or Chilodus maybe )...
I want to add some loricariidae too but I need to know what kind of sp are the best choice, with the fishes I have told and how much fishes and sp can I take too ( in 250x80 )...
I like Megalancistrus, Panaque, Scobinancistrus, Leporacanthicus, and Pseudacanthicus but I don't know really what is the best way...
I'm afraid my tank is too small for Megalancistrus or Panaque ( if I'm wrong, tell me please!), so I'm thinking about the others, but how much fishes and sp ( 1 or several ? ) can I add?
Thank you very much for yours answers!!!

Can you describe your filter? All the plecos you mention will work, but not some combinations.

I have received already a filter sunsun 2000 L/H, but I intend to add a fluval FX6 ( for the moment the tank is empty )...
I will probably add several pumps too ( between 6000 and 9000 L/H about )

I'd avoid Panaque then, you'll be forever cleaning the filter. Otherwise all the genera you mention would work well. Is it 80cm or 60cm wide?

Re: 250x80x60 tank: what kind of pleco to choose?
the tank is 250 cms long, 80 cms large ( wide so ) and 65 high ( but 60 for the high water in fact )
I will follow your advice and forget Panaque.
