Sturisoma aureum eggs

Post by blackcat33 »

Hello, I noticed that male of s. aureum is sitting on eggs. I was going to change water today, because it is really overdue, last time was 2-3 weeks ago. I don't know what to do, leave it for now? I think eggs are 2 days old. Tank: 350l, Juwel bioflow filter.

Doing a small waterchange usually never hurts. Just make sure the waterlevel does not go too low during the waterchange. 20% maybe? And go with another 20% some days later... If the tank is not overstocked too much, then 4 Weeks without a waterchange should not be a big problem either. I do this sometimes on purpose to stimulate fish. Never any problems if filtration and stocking is in check.

Thanks for advice. I think I skip it for now, the eggs are too close to surface and he may leave them. I need to do more research about their breeding, eggs are total suprise :)
