Tips on how to separate fries

Post by squid »

I have a trio of blue eyed brostlenose in a 35 gal tank which has been overrun by llants and algae. Looking for tips on how to separate the fries? Also should inseparate them? Or just leave them in there? I want to be able
To raise them.

Should
I transfer parents to another tank to breed?
Thisnis the tank they are currently in, i also have cories in this tank.

You either separate them quite soon after hatching, before they leave the dad's cave or you better leave them in there. Catching them after they left the cave is a real pain.

If they breed and are healthy, I don't see reason to move the parents. You just need to place the caves in a way for you to see when they spawned, so you can pull the fry after they hatched, if needed.

Why don't you remove some of the jungle? it will grow back again ;)

You might also need some more Waterchanges to minimize the algae grow in the future.

The floating plant isn't an algae, it is a vascular plant Utricularia gibba, it grows in my tanks, but never as thickly as that.

It has Ceratopteris thalictroides and Lemna minor embedded in it.

Edit: I've now seen the OP's other algae thread and posted on that.

By the way the plural form of the word fry (as in the young fish) is fry, not fries.
