Wanted to share a great medication for catfish

I got an albino cory cat at the LFS, they had just gotten them in.
When I got home with her, she looked fine, and I put her in the aquarium; however, within a day or two, I noticed that she was going up to the top for air a lot. I saw that she had ich on her pectoral fin; that she was already in a bad way.
Fortunately, I had SeaChem ParaGuard on hand. This stuff is great!
I thought that she would die, she looked bad!
I kept using the ParaGuard, and I am happy to report that she is swimming around and eating again. She looks great!
I used the full dose, with no stress to the fish.
I highly recommend ParaGuard: It will not kill your aerobic bacteria, so you can use it when adding fish to your aquarium or for the quarantine tank with new fish. It may "kick back" your aerobic bacteria, so keep checking for ammonia, and do those water changes!
I have also used it successfully on catfish just purchased from the LFS who had Oödinium, aka Velvet.
I will not be without ParaGuard, I get it from Amazon.com, and keep it on hand so I don't have to wait a couple of days to get it if I have a sick fish or a new fish. It also kills fungus. And it DOES NOT contain FORMALIN!
It does contain Malachite Green, so it is best to add it to the aquarium at night without the light on.
I have read that Malachite Green is toxic to catfish and tetras; however this ParaGuard did not seem to effect either of them negatively at all, and I used it at full dose for 10 consecutive days. My fish are now healthy and look great!
Thanks SeaChem!
