Hoplo Catfish tank size and requirments

Hi all!

Iv just finished cycling my tank, and it currently contains 7 zebra danios. The tank is 30"L x 12"D x 15"H.

It has lots of open space in it, but im not sure if this is big enough for a hoplo catfish? My LFS has gotten some in, and there so cool! He said i could just about fit one into my tank, but i thought id check first.

What kind op Hoplo are you thinking of acquring?

Hoplosternum littorale reaches 20 cm, while Hoplosternum punctatum will not grow over 8 cm.

Obviously, the first need much more rom than the latter.

It just said Hoplo catfish, it was probably about 2 inches, brown with black spots. He said it would grow to 5 inches.

Check out Dianema longibarbis too. Easiest difference to spot is the length of the dorsal fin spine.
