chiloglanis with ich

Post by synolover »

I got five chiloglanis last weekend (not sure what species). Dosed some prazi pro three days ago, they were looking great, but now they've got ich. It's not a very severe case (yet), I just woke up and they seemingly got it overnight, because I didn't see it last night. Any ideas on how to treat? I have no clue what caused it.

This will be tough to treat. The two standard treatments are raising the temperature over 84f or using a formalin based medication. Chiloglanis spp are not likely to do well at temps over 84f for very long and formalin treatments lower O2 levels significantly. Whichever method you choose try add significant water movement to keep O2 levels as high as you can during treatment.
