Some real beauties in there Frank. I have 3 of these, but what I think is the only male I have, is just beginning to develop the spotted pattern that yours have. Have you spawned these as I've not read any information about that anywhere!

I thought that I only had one or two males, but was I ever mistaken.

Have you spawned these as I've not read any information about that anywhere!

No. Ian informed me that someone in Germany has spawned them and I have an acquaintance who claims to have done so, but I have never seen anything to substantiate that claim.

Apparently they require a muddy, clay laden condition, which I would never attempt to duplicate. I'm just not ready to risk these beauties with any spawning method that I have never tried before and truth be told, if a species won't spawn in my generic water conditions, I'll probably never spawn them.

Greetings. During the summer around 76 and during the winter around 74. They have been trouble free for the almost 2 years that I have had them.

Hi Frank,
Thanks for the spawning info which suggests they are very atypical compared to the usual cory methods. I think I'll make do with trying to source some more adults, as with most corys they look so much better and settled in a larger shoal like yours.

Matt is in England, so I expect it's a little bit less difficult to find fish from Glaser here...

Edit: And I'm pretty sure Pier Aquatics had some a while back. Not sure how much they were - if my memory serves, they weren't crazy expensive, but not "I'll have a dozen, as they are nearly giving them away" either...

They were £38 a pair and I got the last 3 from neil at pier. As far as I know he hasn't had any more in but I will get in touch with him to find out the possibility of further imports.Probably not much use to you though Frank with you being the other side of the pond!!

a number of hobbyists have bred this fish in my area, the first happening 6 or 7 about years ago. I wasn't really paying attention to the conditions they had their fish in but it wasn't anything out of the ordinary from what you'd expect from corydoras.
