What was your first catfish and year?

Reading this post by Bas Pels, it dawned on me that there might be an interesting topic on working out what our first catfishes were. Maybe if this one runs I will start another alternative thread entitled, "What was the dumbest fish I ever bought". Anyway, back to first catfish:

My first was Pseudomystus siamensis, 1977, the year Star Wars came out!

I think it was Corydoras paleatus, alternatively Corydoras melanistius or a species very similar in 1976

my first catfish were a single Corydoras aeneus and a single Corydoras paleatus, bought together

An albino Clarius, bought by friends of my parents at about 1" long and it soon began to grow, eating anything else in site. I started off with an iron framed tank! That was about 1979-80.

my first one was a Pterygoplichthys scrophus in about 1994 (or 95.. cannot remember exactly how old I was.) He quickly outgrew my tank and is still living in the LFS's display tank to this day (atleast that is what the owner states) and he was probably the dumbest one i bought too (only had a 20 gallon tank.)

I named him Sir Crocs.

My first catfish (and first fish) was an albino Corydoras aeneus. Probably about 1989.

Mine was a Pterygoplichthys gibbiceps in 1995 as a present for being a page boy at a wedding, and it was earlier this year when he died. Sadly he spent most of his life in a 2ft tank and only his last few years being comfortable in a 5ft tank.

Hey neat topic!! My very first cat was an absolutely beautiful pimelodus Pictus! In 2011!! Haha I'm still a newbie!! But now I have 9 cats! And pimelodus species are still my favorite!

My first cat was a common bristlenoes in 2011.
I am now slightly obsessed with l number catfish and have 9 of them hopefully soon to be 12. It is safe to say I can blame my addiction on this website.

A tandanus tandanus when I was 5-ish, so 1983. I caught it in Lake Glenbawn "Glenbawn Dam" and insisted my Dad let me cart it the 3 1/2hrs and 290klms home and it lived in an old livestock water trough until I got my first real fish tank.

Thanks to that one individual fish I have never been able to eat them. Tandanus cats that is, all other local fish are fair game.
