It's a young fish, so it's difficult to say definitively. I'm fairly certain, though, that it's a young Lepomis auritus-- a redbreast sunfish.
BTW, nice specimens you have there, Birger.
That last shot is really nice


I have been in contact with Bob Bock who led the feild trip where we caught these and is quite knowledgable in N.A.natives.
