Peckoltia Compta?

Post by Bettaman »

Was labelled as leopard frog pleco at my LFS. Purchased a month ago. Have some doubts about coloration as it seems closer to lineola or sp than Compta. Your comments are appreciated.

Welcome to PlanetCatfish.

About your fish, definitely not P. compta.

This is just a guess, maybe . is similar but I think it has too many spots on the head. Again, I'm guessing here, so hopefully someone else will correct or confirm.

Cheers, Eric

Thank you for your reply Eric.
Here's another picture of the underside of the fish.

Your fish looks similar to a couple I picked up recently. Check out the pictures of mine on this thread-http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/view ... 13&t=45368

Personally I think mine are closer to L205 than brevis but that's my opinion, yours might be closer to brevis but there is a chance they we exported from the same source at the same time and whatever species they are they are the same.

I would confidently go for . P. brevis is not a commonly imported fish at all.
