So I purchased this beautiful cat a few weeks ago and have been trying desperately to identify it. Nobody seems 100 percent sure but I've narrowed it down to either an Asian redtailed catfish or a crystal eyed catfish (maybe a hybrid???) let me know what y'all think!

It looks like it may be .
But, at that size which bagrid your catfish actually is, it is a tad hard to nail down. I think it maybe a case of letting your fish settle into its aquarium, letting it put on more growth (which may not take long) and then getting a more complete photograph taken of the lateral profile.

Agree with the ID. Silurus is Dr. Heok Hee Ng who most recently revised the genus of Hemibagrus. So one can rest assured of the ID.

Pond, not tank :) Albeit one never/next to never sees even sub-adults, not to mention adults, raised by hobbyists in captivity. There are several obvious reasons, having to do with their alleged champion aggression and a large adult size, but I really wonder if there are others, like "they don't take captivity so well".
