on mouse over thumbnail not working again?

Hi Jools,

I'm not seeing the on-mouse-over thumbnails appear when I hover over CLOG-tagged names in the forum. Is it just me and my browser? (both on my phone (android) and on CHROME on PC).

e.g.,

Weirdly, the thumbnail appears when I'm writing or editing a post and I use the "preview" button on the post (I can over over clog tagged names and see the thumbnails), but the moment I hit submit to finalize the post and try hovering over the name, no thumbnail appears.

Cheers,
Eric

It's a bug looking into it.

The tooltip code is some 20 years old. It was cutting edge then but is super clunky now. So, I've ripped it out and replaced it with the modern way of doing similar. In the forum, it's not finished yet, but at least we have the image back.

There are about 20 other uses of tooltips outside of the forum, so off to go modernise them too - great to simplify the site's codebase.

Cheers,

Jools

I've been working on this and I now think I've got the final (for the next 10 years! :-) version working. You can see it on the first page I've refreshed here:

https://www.planetcatfish.com/common/re ... pdates.php

Will post again when this is rolled out across the whole site.

This is now fixed/upgraded across the site.

Addendum:

:-)

... and now with Star Wars transition circular wipe style. Work here is done! Have done quite a lot of work on the styles across the site. New button styles, the fonts across the site are now standardised (hasn't worked since 2003!) and some other background fixes.

I'm leaving this alone for the next decade!

Cheers,

Jools

Note: This feature only works on the most modern, feature rich browsers, eventually all should have this. Less feature rich browsers will see the image simply fade in meantime.
