Down Basics
Overview The first spawn was on Sunday 8th of April 2012. The breeding group consisted of 2 males and 2 females. The smallest male was at least 40mm SL and the smallest female was at least 50mm SL. The youngest adult was approximately 12 months old. The individuals were obtained from Fins Furs and Feathers, Ireland.

1.JMC Catfish Pellets (dry / prepared) daily

pH 7.00 to 7.00
Temperature 24.5°C to 25.0°C

Other Water Params 20% water changes weekly.
Down Aquarium
Dimensions The aquarium dimensions were 1200mm x 300mm x 400mm (47.2" x 11.8" x 15.7") all Length x Width x Height.
Furniture Fine sand substrate, boog wood, rounded and sub-rounded stones, ceramic and slate pleco caves, 3 x Echinodorus bleheri, 1 x Anubias heterophylla , 1 x Anubias barteri var. nana.
Filtration Tetratec EX700 external filter plus "sponge" type internal filtration driven by by Eheim air pump.
Lighting Low
Heating 100w and 200w internal heaters.
Down Breeding
Behaviour Typical cory T-position. Only one female took part in the first spawning and out of 40-50 eggs collected only ca. 20% were fertile. As it was their first spawn I hope this number will increase with time.
Eggs There were 45 light orange eggs laid which were 1.0mm in diameter.
