| Overview | The first spawn was on Saturday 27th of March 2021. The breeding group consisted of 1 male and 1 female. Additionally, there were 1 unknown individual present. The smallest male was at least 450mm SL and the smallest female was at least 450mm SL. The youngest adult was approximately 3 months old. The individuals were obtained from Mueller, from fry at the Madison, WI, Catfish Con.. | |||

| Furniture | Bare bottom, but painted on the outside. Lots and lots of driftwood and stack of clay and slate caves, stacked nearly to the top of the water. The fish spawned in a cave near the surface. | |||

| Behaviour | These fish are always out and about in the tank, usually on wood, the filter intakes or the glass...very active. Spawning happened when a male started occupying one of the caves...at first a clay triangular cave...the female would start hanging around the cave, trying to get in and it seemed to me that the male was preventing her from doing so. They did cave several times over the last several months, but with no success. Eventually, i found the father with a spawn in a standard slate cave just below the triangular cave. | |||
