Down Basics
Overview The first spawn was on Saturday 21st of June 2008. The breeding group consisted of 1 male and 1 female. The smallest male was at least 125mm SL and the smallest female was at least 130mm SL. The individuals were obtained from Aquariumclub 'De siervis Leuven'.
Feeding
1.Spirulina tablets (dry / prepared) daily
2.JBL Novo Pleco chips (dry / prepared) few times a week
3.Fresh Cucumber (live) occasionally
4.Courgette (Zuccini) (dry / prepared) occasionally

Dimensions The aquarium dimensions were 800mm x 350mm x 400mm (31.5" x 13.8" x 15.7") all Length x Width x Height.
Furniture Sand as substratelayer, 2 breedingholes made out of clay and a few pieces of wood.

Down Breeding
Behaviour The male chases the female, when she becomes gravid the female enters the cave to lay her eggs. From this point the male takes care of the eggs untill they hatch.
Eggs There were 80 orange/yellow eggs laid which were 3.0mm in diameter.
Segregation Parents were left with the fry.
