Overview | The first spawn was on Monday 16th of September 2013. The breeding group consisted of 1 male and 1 female. The smallest male was at least 100mm SL and the smallest female was at least 80mm SL. The youngest adult was approximately 3 months old. The individuals were obtained from Rare Aquatics (Wild). |

Eggs | There were 30 dark yellow eggs laid which were 0.0mm in diameter. |
Segregation | Spawned twice (2 months apart) in Discus tank
Removed eggs - first time without male - poor hatch rate (only 2 fry hatch) - lost fry after 3 weeks not feeding well.
2nd attempt removed with male - still only one baby resulted and only survived a month
Removed fish to separate tank in July 2013 - no spawning activity so back to Discus tank in September 2013 |
