Down Breeding
Behaviour The first spawning occurred the day following a normal weekly water change, using water of the same temperature. All five fish took part in typical Corydoras "T" mating clinch fashion. Each female laying only six eggs each, these were deposited in the Java moss and in the front corners of the tank. Once the spawning activity had finished the adult fish were moved to another tank. The eggs were not given any anti fungal treatment. Over the next three months the fish continued spawning every three or four days, producing between six and ten eggs each time. Because of the lack of available tank room the adult fish were left with the eggs, there were no signs of the adults attempting to eat the eggs or molest the emerging fry. Their activity being very similar to that of two other dwarf species, Corydoras pygmaeus and Corydoras hastatus who can also be safely left with eggs and fry.
Eggs There were 12 very light tan eggs laid which were 1.0mm in diameter.
Time to hatch 4 days
