Down Basics
Overview The first spawn was on Friday 2nd of August 2013. The breeding group consisted of 4 males and 1 female. The smallest male was at least 64mm SL and the smallest female was at least 51mm SL. The youngest adult was approximately 12 months old. The individuals were obtained from Petsmart.

1.Various frozen foods (frozen) daily

pH 6.40 to 6.80
Temperature 22.5°C to 25.0°C

Other Water Params Indian Almond Leaf added, just one at a time, when it falls apart I add another one. At least 2 1/3 water changes a week, more if needed.
Down Aquarium
Dimensions The aquarium dimensions were 610mm x 406mm x 457mm (24" x 16" x 18") all Length x Width x Height.
Furniture Housed with Ancistrus pair, 6 C. trilineatus, 5 otocinclus, 2 algae eating gobys, 10 very small juvenile Corydoras sp. Black, 6 Assassin Snails
Filtration Fluval 2 with sponges, Tom's hang on canister filter, small sponge filter
Lighting 2 hours of sunlight on quarter of tank, standard fluorescent grow light and back up marineland led for cloudy days
Heating None for summer
Down Breeding
Behaviour Left the window open by the tank after a 1/3 cool water change in the evening. It rained overnight and the tank cooled to 72f. Spawning occurred in the early morning with at least 200 eggs, she's still going at 10am. Typical T mating with mostly just 2 of the males.
Eggs There were 200 cream to yellow eggs laid which were 3.0mm in diameter.
